ABACÁ COMBINES VISUAL APPEAL, ECO-FRIENDLINESS & DURABILITY IN PRASINO RESTAURANT

When it came to redesigning the Prasino restaurant in La Grange, IL, the Chicago-based Simeone Deary Design team had a specific goal in mind: Create a modern and sleek casual dining restaurant with a conscious backbone. With that goal in mind, the design team extensively researched materials that would combine visual appeal with eco-friendliness and durability

In a space called Prasino (Greek for green) interesting and thoughtful materials are key to supporting their story.

That’s when they landed on Abacá. Made using recycled banana fibers, Abacá proved to combine these attributes quite elegantly and was selected to adorn the host station, service stations and doors throughout the space.

I absolutely love that I could use Abacá on all surfaces and know that they would read with the modernity I had hoped for, as well as stand the test of time in the (now) extremely busy restaurant.

he coordination of real wood accents and natural materials with the recycled banana fibers in Abacá Burlap #8002 creates a truly organic yet modern aesthetic, which compliments the mission of the Prasino brand. Plus, the naturally dimensional surface made Abacá the surface the team at Simeone Deary Design Group was looking for.

Thank you, Lamin-Art, for making such an extraordinary product.
