Veneer-Art is the only pre-finished, real wood veneer that starts from a flitch that is cut directly from the log of the species it represents. But did you know installing Veneer-Art instead of other veneers saves both time and money by eliminating extra steps?More

Meet Brooke Phillips: Our Senior Architectural Representative for Lamin-Art in the southwestern markets of Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico—and a mosaic artist.
As a Senior Architectural Representative for Lamin-Art, Brooke has been part of the Lamin-Art family for more than eight years. She works with interior designers and architects as a valued resource in their specification process for diverse surface applications. And with an interior degree, it’s no surprise that she has the creative eye for design to match.
She found the discontinued designs from various collections similar to beautiful fish scales and designed a vivid mosaic of a bass fish. After that, Brooke was hooked on a new creative outlet that has developed into a treasured hobby that she shares with her young daughter. We sat down with Brooke to learn more about how creating these extraordinary fish out of our products first started.More
It’s been a great year for Metal-Art™, our newest collection of architectural surfaces, and this latest development is no exception! We’re so excited to announce that the line will be exhibited at Material ConneXion, the largest library of advanced, innovative, sustainable materials and processes in the world.
The metallic collection, which includes five large-scale, distinctive designs, will be displayed in 10 Material ConneXion libraries in cities all over the globe, including New York, Bangkok, Beijing, Cologne, Daegu, Istanbul, Milan, Seoul, Shanghai, and Skövde.
Recognition from the Materials ConneXion libraries places Metal-Art™ among the ranks of 7,000 cutting-edge materials. We’re so proud to be a part of a project dedicated to identifying industry trends and providing a comprehensive overview of today’s innovative and sustainable material solutions. As our most innovative collection yet, we’re not surprised that Metal-Art™ made the cut!
“Designers and architects are the visionaries defining the future of our spaces and environments,” says Hans Mutzke, Lamin-Art’s design director. “This breakthrough collection was designed to answer the call from those visionaries for new ideas and materials.”
Each product in the Metal-Art™ collection is available in four traditional metallic colorations: brushed aluminum, brushed stainless, brushed champagne and brushed bronze. Our designers even developed the surfaces in a way that ensures they seamlessly match when Metal-Art™ sheets are applied side-by-side and end-to-end. Inspiration for the line came from sources such as the “Bird’s Nest” from the 2008 Summer Olympics and the fluidity of rippling water.

For Lamin-Art, inspiration for the new line came from completely modern architectural elements. Design director Hans Mutzke cited China’s National Stadium, more commonly known as the “Bird’s Nest” from the 2008 Summer Olympics, as a source of inspiration behind the Axis line’s embossed design.
“We find a lot of top retail stores are also using those types of images to carry a theme for the future,” Mutzke says. “Where others use glass and other elements, we’re using aluminum foil that is bonded and embossed to our standard craft.”
Mutzke added that while competitors do produce some smaller metal laminates, what sets Metal-Art™ apart from the competition is its dimensionality and scale. “The Metal-Art collection is meant to serve a large-volume space, like a major hotel reception area or feature walls,” he says.
Another attribute exclusive to the Metal-Art laminate line is its light reflectivity. The two-layer embossing allows light to bounce off the embossed elements, making a light and shadow effect on the design.
“It’s a subtle visual image, and that is really a language,” Mutzke says. “It’s an architectural language.”
Metals take on a new role in interior design with Lamin-Art’s exclusive collection of embossed architectural surfaces: Metal-Art™. The collection is made up of five large-scale designs (Waves, Striations®, Axis®, Geometrix® and Interlink®), which combined with Classic, a simple brushed metal, add a dramatic element to any space.
Inspired by nature and classic architectural motifs, our designers Hans Mutzke and Virginie Boucher researched the architectural surfaces landscape and needs of the A+D community. As a result, they crafted designs, each with a large matrix, deep relief dimensionality and eye-catching metallic sheen.
Each of Metal-Art’s™ designs is offered in four colorations — brushed aluminum, brushed stainless, brushed bronze and brushed champagne — for a total of 24 surfaces that can be combined and coordinated on feature walls, reception desks, columns, elevator cabs, and other vertical architectural applications in hospitality, retail and corporate environments.
Take a look at each architectural surface, and see how Metal-Art™ designs can make your next interior shine on.
